The anticipation for receiving the first applications for the Montenegrin Citizenship by Investment Program arises, as at the end of the year the first batch will be received, even though the program will not be in action until 2020. Over a 3-year period, 2,000 investors will be a part of the program. The application for the program requires an investment of EUR 100,000 in a government fund plus a real estate investment, besides other governmental requirements.
The chosen applicants will be selected based on a certain process, starting with checking all applicants by special mediation agents, then a check on whether the money is paid as was planned by international credentials agents and auditors will be made. Lastly, when the investors are approved, the proposal will be taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for further control
