Singapore serves as a model for economic development, with the government consistently implementing various strategies and policies to attract foreign investment to the country. One of these pathways is the “Global Investor Program,” which provides an opportunity for investors interested in starting a business or investing in Singapore to apply for Permanent Residency (PR).

This program is operated and managed by a government entity called “Contact Singapore,” a division of the Economic Development Board in Singapore. This division focuses on facilitating investment opportunities and interests in Singapore for investors and business individuals.

Investment options for obtaining permanent residency in Singapore

Investors can apply for this program by investing a minimum of 2.5 million SGD (equivalent to approximately 1,864,280.38 USD). The investment can take one of the following forms:

  • Establishing a new business entity or expanding an existing company in Singapore.
  • Investing in an approved government fund, which, in turn, invests these amounts in companies based in Singapore.

Under this program, applicants must demonstrate a significant business track record and successful entrepreneurial background. These criteria serve as the overall evaluation standards for their PR applications. Applicants should have at least three years of entrepreneurial experience and a business track record.

Additionally, their companies must participate in one or more approved industries, with a minimum annual sales volume of at least 50 million SGD before applying. The company must also maintain a minimum average sales for the three years preceding the application of 50 million SGD. Finally, applicants must retain at least 30% of the company’s shares.

Upon approval of the application, the investor receives provisional approval for permanent residency, valid for six months. During this period, the investor must fulfill the investment requirements according to the chosen investment option. Subsequently, the investor activates permanent residency in Singapore within 12 months, obtaining final approval from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority in Singapore. The approval process for permanent residency takes approximately six months.

At Reach Immigration, we do not offer the option of immigrating to Singapore, but we provide other citizenship or residency programs by investment, which you can learn about by booking a free consultation by clicking on the link here.
